Treasure DAO members will soon participate in a vote on a proposal to move its gaming ecosystem from the Arbitrum blockchain to ZKsync. Voting begins on September 17.
Proposal for Migration to ZKsync
The development was announced in a statement released today, indicating that the Treasure DAO proposal is set to kick off on September 17. If approved, the shift to ZKsync's ZK Stack technology is planned for mid-November. The transition process includes migrating the current testnet from Arbitrum to a new network on ZKsync, culminating in the deployment of the mainnet. The developer team emphasized that voting will be left to the community, as they typically refrain from participating in governance decisions.
Decision of MAGIC Holders
The Treasure DAO ecosystem, built on NFTs, has been established on Arbitrum. Its flagship product is a central metaverse called Bridgeworld, containing in-game assets like Treasures and Legions. The native token, MAGIC, powers an expansive economy that spans over 30 games, both homegrown and developed by external projects.
Internal Discussions and Community Support
This proposal follows support from Treasure co-founder Karel Vuong of the 'Gaming Catalyst Program' this year, which aimed to allocate 200 million ARB tokens toward game development on Arbitrum. Following that, an Arbitrum DAO vote increased the allocation to 225 million ARB. The move to ZKsync is part of a broader strategic shift, despite a long-standing relationship with Arbitrum. Supporters claim that ZKsync's infrastructure will better align with Treasure DAO's goals in decentralized gaming. MAGIC holders will now decide whether the migration to ZKsync will occur.
Voting on the migration proposal will begin on September 17, and the outcome will depend on community support. Transitioning to ZKsync could mark a new era for the Treasure DAO ecosystem.
