Trezor, a well-known hardware wallet company, has introduced Ethereum staking to its cryptocurrency management application, Trezor Suite. This new feature allows Ethereum holders to securely participate in staking by holding a minimum of 0.1 ETH in their Trezor wallet.

The integration with Everstake, a staking-as-a-service platform, enables users to stake their ETH through Trezor Suite. This update allows users to choose the amount of ETH they want to commit to staking directly from their ETH account.

Unlike bitcoin mining, which requires specialized hardware and consumes significant energy, ETH staking involves holding a certain amount of ETH to support network operations on the Ethereum blockchain.

Staking contributes to the security and functionality of the Ethereum network by decentralizing transaction validation processes. During the staking period, the user's ETH is locked and cannot be traded. After a few days, users can claim their ETH, and the rewards earned are automatically reinvested for further staking.

The addition of the staking feature in Trezor Suite enhances the functionality of Trezor wallets, including Model T, Model One, and the recent Trezor Safe 3. This feature allows users to securely handle tasks like buying, selling, exchanging, and staking all within the Trezor ecosystem.

Matej Zak, the CEO at Trezor, stated that their goal is to provide a simple and secure service that empowers users with financial self-sovereignty. By integrating staking into Trezor Suite, ETH users can now effortlessly earn rewards while maintaining control over their assets.
