In a live stream on the Spaces platform, the new version of X (formerly Twitter), Trump discussed his role in the project. Speaking with crypto influencer Farokh, he stated, 'Crypto is one of those things we have to do. Whether we like it or not, I have to do it.'
Tokenomics Details
World Liberty Financial Operations Director Zak Folkman revealed that WLFI tokens would not be available for presale and are regulated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The token distribution model allocates 63% to public sales, 17% to user rewards, and 20% to team compensation. The company will provide a platform for borrowing and lending cryptocurrency.
Future of Crypto Policy
Trump noted that his interest in cryptocurrencies increased due to past NFT projects, which initially brought him into the industry. The live stream also served as a rally for his 2024 presidential campaign, during which he promised to create a more favorable regulatory environment for cryptocurrencies than the current administration.
