The US regulatory sector has shown persistent evolution. In a recent report, tZERO announced receiving a Special Purpose Broker-Dealer License from the SEC and FINRA.
License Acquisition
According to tZERO’s official announcement, the new license makes the firm a 'one-stop shop' for digital asset security issuance. The firm primarily focuses on blockchain-related companies, aiding them with regulatory issuance and compliant trading modalities.
tZERO's Objectives
The license helps tZERO advance its infrastructure for firms needing to mold into a securities-regulated environment. The company aims to secure a leading position in blockchain services. tZERO CEO David Goone stated: "Our special purpose broker-dealer status will enable us to offer safe, secure and regulated broker-dealer digital asset custody and other innovative products for issuers, investors and other market participants alike."
Future Plans
tZERO plans to enhance investors’ journey towards liquidity and provide a 'seamless trading environment'. The company's Vice President stated that he looks forward to commercializing the unique asset.
tZERO is the second firm in the US to obtain the Special Purpose Broker-Dealer License, following Prometheum. The company aims to actively develop its services and products for blockchain firms.
