On April 1, Whale Alert reported that an undisclosed wallet received 500 million XRP, worth $314.87 million, from Ripple's escrow. Typically, Ripple transfers these unlocked amounts to its own wallets, making this recent event unusual.

Ripple The transaction took place at 02:51 (UTC), leaving the full amount in the recipient's Ripple address without any subsequent transactions. The wallet's escrow balance now holds 4.5 billion XRP, awaiting the scheduled release on May 1.

In the past, Ripple has adhered to unlocking 1 billion XRP monthly as per its regular schedule. Recent exceptions include releasing 500 million XRP in March, followed by relocking 800 million XRP. An attempted March escrow release faced technical issues, although Ripple successfully met its 1 billion XRP quota with a late February execution on February 25.
