The TON network has seen the supply of USDT stablecoin surpassing the 500 million mark after two months of its rollout. This surge in supply is accompanied by the growing popularity of in-app mini-games within the Telegram-linked blockchain network.

The circulation of Tether stablecoin on The Open Network has exceeded 500 million, with The Block's USDT supply dashboard reporting a total of 519.28 million USDT stablecoins on the TON network as of Tuesday. This milestone marks around two months since Tether introduced its U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin on TON and unveiled the gold-backed stablecoin, XAUT.

The Open Network officially announced that the demand for USDT-TON is on the rise due to the seamless nature of sending digital dollars globally, likened to sending a text message. The recent data from DefiLlama indicates that the total value locked in the TON blockchain has escalated to over $670 million, having crossed the $600 million mark earlier this month, reflecting a doubling of the locked value within a short period.

TON has gained significant traction this year as the primary platform for Web3 integration for Telegram, a platform catering to over 900 million users worldwide. The surge in network activity within TON can also be correlated with the increasing popularity of crypto mini-games accessible through Telegram. Games like Dotcoin, Catizen, and Hamster Kombat offer simple gameplay mechanics that enable users to earn in-game currencies that could potentially lead to real token airdrops.

Toncoin, the native cryptocurrency of the TON blockchain network, has surged to become the ninth largest cryptocurrency globally, boasting a market capitalization of $18.5 billion. At the time of publication, Toncoin is trading at $7.54, according to The Block's Toncoin price page.
