Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin significantly increased his activity on X in response to criticism that he had abandoned the platform.
August Activity
Throughout August, Vitalik Buterin posted or replied about Ether (ETH), the Ethereum blockchain, and other topics at least 158 times, as pointed out by trader and economist Alex Krüger in a Sept.12 post.
Reasons for Increased Activity
Buterin mentioned in an Aug. 20 post that he was told to 'do less philosophizing and do more Ethereum bullposting.' He also faced criticism for allegedly leaving for the smaller Farcaster platform. Several high-profile accounts, including ‘Autism Capital,’ called for his return to X to promote Ethereum. In response, Buterin emphasized that Farcaster allowed him to engage with a group of like-minded peers with less scrutiny.
Continuing Activity in September
Buterin's activity on X has continued into September, with more than 30 posts or replies up to Sept. 13. Some of these posts called on the community to ramp up pressure on Layer 2 solutions lacking adequate decentralization protocols.
Increased activity by Vitalik Buterin on X shows his intent to stay connected with the Ethereum community and respond to criticism. It remains to be seen how this will impact future decisions within the Ethereum ecosystem.
