Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, sold some meme coins and USDT totaling around $360,000. He also donated funds to support a legal campaign.

Selling Meme Coins and USDT

According to the Spot On Chain account, Buterin sold meme coins and USDT on exchanges, including 70.71 million Neiro, 11.76 billion MOODENG, 7.8 million DEGEN, and 16.03 billion KABOSU. The total sale amounted to $360,000, for which he received 140.6 ETH.

Supporting Legal Campaign

Buterin also donated 100 ETH (approximately $242,000) to the 'Free Alexey & Roman' campaign, supporting the legal defense of TornadoCash developers Alexey Pertsev and Roman Storm.

Selling Ethereum and Market Impact

Reports indicate that a wallet tied to Buterin moved 649 ETH to Paxos, equivalent to $1.79 million at the time. This coincided with a minor ETH price dip of less than 1%, though such sales often affect the market after some delay. Currently, Ethereum is trading at $2,416, having increased by 2.2% in the last 24 hours.

Vitalik Buterin's cryptocurrency transactions have drawn attention in the crypto community, sparking discussions on their market impact and his philanthropic efforts.
