The situation at WAEC coincides with the recent shutdown of the National Examination Council (NECO) portal for maintenance. NECO suspended all its exam-related portals, including those for checking and registering exam results, starting August 4, 2025.

Candidate Performance in 2025

In 2025, out of 1,973,253 registered candidates, only 38.32% achieved credits in a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics. Additionally, 192,089 results were withheld due to malpractice concerns.
