The alleged WazirX hacker moved another batch of 5001 ETH, stolen from WazirX exchange, to a new address on September 9 to launder them through Tornado Cash Mixer.
ETH Movement
After moving the ETH batch of 5001 coins, the hacker has already started laundering them in small batches through Tornado. The recent move involved 5001 ETH worth Rs 96.86 crores.
Previous Transactions
Till now, the WazirX hacker has laundered 7600 ETH worth Rs 147 crores through Tornado from September 2 to September 7. The laundering process was carried out in multiple transactions of 100 ETH each.
WazirX Attack
On July 18, the multi-sig wallet of WazirX exchange was attacked, resulting in the theft of various cryptocurrencies worth $234 million, equivalent to Rs 2000 crore. WazirX exchange suspended all withdrawals from the platform and approached the Singapore High Court for a moratorium. This development comes amidst ongoing protests by WazirX users demanding a criminal probe against the exchange management.
