Web3 game Wilder World secures Epic Game Store listing in alpha testing phase

Mar 28, 2024

Wilder World, a Web3 game, has obtained a listing on the Epic Games Store prior to its upcoming launch date. The game, labeled as the ultimate gaming experience by its publisher, Wilder World, invites players to explore the virtual world of Wiami, a metaverse city, for activities like racing, socializing, and more.

All in-game assets, including items, equipment, land, and avatars, will be tradable digital assets on the Wilder World marketplace. Co-founder Frank Wilder states that being featured on the Epic Games store highlights the game's innovative approach to next-gen gaming in the metaverse, offering players a unique space for gaming, socializing, and earning opportunities.

The Wilder World team claims to combine various game genres to provide players with a comprehensive and immersive experience, addressing the perceived shortcomings of traditional AAA games like Grand Theft Auto and Cyberpunk. The roadmap outlines the integration of racing, mining, and first-person shooter genres into one game.

Wilder World is underpinned by a custom-built blockchain in collaboration with Polygon and Celestia to ensure scalability and low fees. The game is also set to run on a proprietary cloud gaming system leveraging NVIDIA GPUs for increased reliability and optimization for metaverse and Web3 gaming.

During the initial stages, Wilder World will be accessible on Nvidia's streaming gaming service Geforce NOW. The roadmap projects a phased rollout of functionality to players over the next 12-18 months, with the "racing" phase introduced in "Act I" and the "combat" phase in "Act III."
