Zodia Custody Integration with Marinade
Standard Chartered-backed crypto custodian Zodia Custody has integrated with Marinade, a staking automation platform on the Solana blockchain. This collaboration offers institutional clients expanded access to Solana staking.
Expanding Opportunities for Institutional Clients
The collaboration allows investors to directly stake Solana (SOL) from Zodia’s cold wallets through the Zodia Gateway platform, which curates third-party services for institutional clients. This is Zodia’s fifth blockchain addition, complementing its existing staking support for Ethereum (ETH), Polkadot (DOT), Cardano (ADA), and BNB Chain (BNB). Zodia Custody CEO Julian Sawyer noted that the collaboration strengthens the company's efforts to streamline access to staking opportunities for institutional investors.
Zodia Custody's Previous Achievements
The collaboration comes a month after Zodia Custody partnered with crypto exchange Deribit, allowing institutional clients to access market derivatives liquidity while retaining their assets in secure cold wallets. Prior to that, Zodia secured undisclosed funding from Australia’s largest bank, adding to previous investments from Standard Chartered, Northern Trust, and SBI Holdings. In July, Zodia Markets acquired Alan Howard-backed Elwood Capital’s OTC branch, gaining access to an execution management system, liquidity access tools, and a portfolio & risk management system.
The Zodia Custody partnership with Marinade provides institutional investors with new Solana staking opportunities, strengthening the company’s position in the crypto industry.
