Ethereum developers have launched Uniswap Fork on StarkNet L2 Network

Oct 11, 2022

The developers of the Ethereum client Nethermind have launched a new variant of the Uniswap DEX on the StarkNet L2 network.

Fork was created within Warp. The plugin that is being developed will make it possible to broadcast software from the main Ethereum language - Solidity - to Cairo, which is used in StarkNet.

The main goal of developing Warp - to enable customers to move existing Solidity codebases to Cairo and deploy them to StarkNet. As a result of the recent achievements of the layer 2 network, Warp will finally be able to pay attention to the project on Solidity: Uniswap v 3.Yorick Schellekens (Nethermind Chief)

He said that Uniswap's source code had to be corrected in order to port, as Warp does not support some of the Solidity features. These changes are simple and minimal, according to Yorick Schellekens.

Nowadays, the developers are conducting various tests of UniStark, and the results that will be obtained will be published later. It is believed that this work will allow the plug-in to create a set for the usual health check of protocols that are transferred to StarkNet.

The warp will not stop there. The developers will continue their work on features and will once again do research with some protocols, bringing them to StarkNet at a fast pace.Yorick Schellekens

Schellekens also stated that the fork on StarkNet is not part of the standard Uniswap project.
