Ginger Joy attracted investments amounting to $1.26 million

Feb 12, 2024

Ginger Joy, a subsidiary of the British mobile game developer Matchingham Games, has attracted investments of 1 million pounds sterling (approximately $1.26 million) to develop a blockchain mobile game ecosystem. Unlike the traditional approach of porting browser games to mobile platforms, Ginger Joy aims to create original, interconnected Web3 games specifically adapted for mobile devices, seeking to turn them into a mass Web3 mobile game ecosystem.

Russell Brown, CBDO of Matchingham Games, emphasizes that integrating complex blockchain technologies into mobile games requires exceptional technical and creative skills. The investment is directed towards expanding the team to include new talents and key skills, allowing Ginger Joy to maintain high quality standards.

Ginger Joy plans to use blockchain technologies not only to create a compatible game ecosystem but also to reward creators of user-generated content and conduct targeted marketing based on in-game data. Additionally, the studio actively uses artificial intelligence to accelerate content development, for example, creating racing tracks and game modes, which helps reduce development costs and tailor content to user preferences.

Ginger Joy focuses on the quality of the gameplay. The studio aims for blockchain integration to be optional, not mandatory, making the transition to blockchain as smooth and natural for players as possible. Ibrahim Over, CEO of Ginger Joy Games, emphasizes that the goal is to achieve real benefits for players, improving the gameplay with technology.

The management team of Ginger Joy includes experienced professionals from leading gaming and entertainment companies such as Sybo, Dream Games, Epic/Tonic, Pixar, and Netflix, allowing the use of cross-industry experience to create appealing and easily integrated content.

Ginger Joy has already released its first game - the party racing game Fundora for Android in October 2023, demonstrating its commitment to creating engaging and innovative mobile games based on Web3.
