The analytical team of JPMorgan Bank, led by finance expert Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou, predicts that next year the market's attention will be focused on Ethereum, with its cryptocurrency ETH expected to outpace Bitcoin in growth rates. The expert highlights Ethereum's key advantage - the implementation of the EIP-4844 update, known as "proto-danksharding," which marks the first phase of integrating danksharding technology into the Ethereum network.
This update is expected in the first half of 2024 and is anticipated to significantly improve Ethereum network's scalability, performance, and activity. Danksharding is a simplified version of sharding where temporary "data bubbles" are attached to blocks to store large amounts of data for a limited period.
Furthermore, JPMorgan analysts anticipate growth across the entire cryptocurrency industry, noting the impact of Bitcoin's halving next year and the potential approval of cryptocurrency spot ETFs in the USA. However, they advise caution when investing in cryptocurrencies, especially in DeFi (decentralized finance) projects, which, according to the expert, have failed to compete with the traditional financial sector.
