A major cryptocurrency fraud case has emerged in Kolkata, revealing a scam that has defrauded investors of around 25 crores. According to the results published in the material, the police have arrested two suspects, Anirban Ghosh and Priyanka Sahu, who are accused of running a fraudulent investment scheme promising high returns through cryptocurrency trading.

Complaint Filed at Shakespeare Sarani Police Station

The complaint was lodged at the Shakespeare Sarani Police Station, which specializes in financial and corporate fraud. The victim reported being lured into investing in what appeared to be a lucrative crypto opportunity, only to find out it was a scam.

Investigation and Arrests

In response to the complaint, the bank fraud division at Lalbazar launched an investigation that led to the swift arrest of Ghosh and Sahu. They were subsequently presented in Bankshall Court, where the judge remanded them to police custody for 14 days, reflecting the gravity of the charges against them.

Ongoing Investigation into Larger Network

Authorities are now investigating the possibility that Ghosh and Sahu are part of a larger fraudulent network as the investigation continues to uncover more details about the scam and its potential victims.
