Microsoft has made a significant impact in Nigeria by training 4 million individuals in digital skills over the last five years. This initiative, in collaboration with the Federal Government and local organizations, aims to bolster Nigeria's digital economy. According to analysts cited in the report, the outlook is promising.

Training Program Overview

The training program, which is part of a broader strategy under President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Administration, has seen 350,000 young Nigerians participate in a student program. Out of these, 63,000 completed specific training pathways, and 43,000 earned global certifications, marking a substantial achievement in skill development.

National Skills Initiative and AI Training

Furthermore, as part of the National Skills Initiative, Microsoft has trained an additional 350,000 Nigerians in Artificial Intelligence. Nonye Ujam, Microsoft's Director for Government Affairs for West Africa, emphasized that this milestone is crucial for Nigeria's goal of establishing a $1 trillion digital economy. The company remains dedicated to transforming Nigeria's digital landscape and aims to upskill five million citizens through various government-driven initiatives.

In a notable development, Tether's CEO has announced plans to hire a software engineer for the creation of an AI-powered mobile crypto wallet, reflecting a shift in strategy. For more details, see the full article here.
