MilkyWay Protocol Announces Shutdown
The team behind MilkyWay Protocol acknowledged that the DeFi ecosystem has matured at a slower pace than they had anticipated, leading to a rapid decline in interest in restaking. As a result, the protocol will begin disabling all features immediately, with a complete shutdown scheduled for a later date.
Support for Users During Transition
In a bid to support its users during this transition, MilkyWay Protocol will return its revenue by converting accumulated fees into USDC. This distribution will be made to holders of the MILK token, ensuring that users receive some compensation as the protocol ceases operations.
In light of MilkyWay Protocol's recent decision to wind down operations, it's noteworthy that Circle's USDC Treasury had previously conducted a significant burn of approximately 1.356 billion USDC. For more details, see read more.
