Okeytoo integrates Web3 experience into the Rummy game

Feb 27, 2024

In anticipation of a future where traditional games harness the power of blockchain technology, the beloved Turkish rummy game Okey is gearing up for an innovative journey. Okeytoo, a pioneering Web3 gaming platform, is reimagining this classic game by incorporating NFT creation and trading, play-to-earn mechanics, and a tokenized ecosystem. Planning to unveil its roadmap, the platform promises to offer players not just entertainment but real value and ownership in the digital world.

Okeytoo aims to merge traditional gaming concepts with blockchain capabilities, offering features like verifiable digital ownership and tokenized participation. This allows casual games to evolve, supporting player autonomy, engagement, and livelihoods. Okeytoo's roadmap outlines six stages of ecosystem development, starting with basic infrastructure and mechanics, moving to advanced features like social panels and multi-platform accessibility.

The platform will enhance value through its governance token $OKYT and a treasury contract that accumulates revenues for investment rewards. NFT integration plays a key role, enabling users to create collectible items tied to their achievements and interactions within the game. Okeytoo charges fees for transactions and trades, which are converted back into $OKYT currency, sustaining the platform's viability.

With over 50 million players, Okey brings cultural significance to Web3, offering an existing audience. Okeytoo co-founder Furkan Güneş expressed hope for creating "Okey 3.0," where tradition meets technological advancement. Public sales started in February 2024. This bold experiment aims to set a precedent where players enjoy the full benefits of ownership, contribution, and profit from gaming ecosystems.
