Starting from March 30, the cryptocurrency platform OKX will cease its operations for users from Uzbekistan.
To avoid the blocking of accounts, customers need to close all open positions by 00:00 UTC (05:00 UZT) on March 15 and withdraw their assets by 00:00 UTC on March 30. The exchange promises to ensure the security of funds until withdrawal.
In January, the authorities of Uzbekistan fined the Binance exchange for providing services without proper registration of a legal entity within the country. After the platform refused to pay the fine of 102 million sum (~$8300), the regulator took the matter to court.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan updated the procedure for licensing Bitcoin exchanges.
In addition, starting from April, criminal and administrative penalties will be introduced for illegal activities related to mining and the use of cryptocurrencies.
