As the blockchain gaming ecosystem continues to evolve, companies are seizing this momentum to form alliances aimed at drawing more gamers into the Web3 realm. Recently, Immutable announced the integration of 75 Web3 games over the last three months, bringing the total number of blockchain games on its platform to 270. This growth has spurred the cryptocurrency exchange OKX to collaborate with Immutable to make a foray into Web3 gaming.

Jason Lau, Director of Innovation at OKX, shared that the exchange has initiated a partnership with Immutable to expand the Web3 gaming ecosystem. Lau expressed confidence that Web3 could significantly enhance the gaming experience by providing players with true ownership of assets and fostering innovation in the gaming industry. He noted that Web3 allows players to own, trade, and earn from their gaming assets, which contributes to the development of unique game mechanics, business models, and community engagement.

OKX and Immutable are working on creating a GameFi launchpad that will support the development of Web3 games. This launchpad will facilitate the easy launch of games on the Immutable-X (IMX) blockchain using zkEVM and the Ethereum virtual machine. Lau emphasized that the upcoming launchpad will improve the discovery and access to new games, experiences, and Web3 resources.

Blockchain games on Immutable will gain access to OKX's suite of solutions, including the exchange, wallet, and non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace. The OKX Wallet service will be integrated with Immutable Passport, a login method designed for Web3 games, simplifying account management for players.

Lau highlighted the importance of creating unique game mechanics to attract and retain a sustainable community. He urged gaming projects to focus on developing their communities around each game and informing gamers about the benefits of Web3.

Immutable is enhancing its gaming ecosystem by adding features that simplify Web3 games for players. For instance, the platform announced its own zero-knowledge scaling platform, zkEVM, allowing game developers to subsidize gas fees for users and ensure a smoother transition process for Web3 gamers.
