Optimism has rolled out a significant maintenance update for its OP_RETH platform, marking a crucial step in enhancing security and functionality. Released on October 1, version 250 introduces key changes that all operators should be aware of, as highlighted in the official information.
Removal of Legacy Commands
The most prominent update in OP_RETH version 250 is the removal of the importop and importreceiptsop commands. These commands were previously utilized for importing legacy pre-Bedrock OVM history, and operators who depend on them are urged to transition to the Bedrock statebootstrap process prior to upgrading.
Security Enhancements
In addition to command removals, the update also addresses two critical dependency vulnerabilities, thereby bolstering the overall security of the network. While these changes are designed to be seamless for end users, node teams are strongly advised to update their clients to ensure compatibility and security compliance.
In a recent update, Optimism has enhanced its OP_RETH platform, while Starkware previously released Cairo v2.19.5, focusing on improving the developer toolchain for Starknet. For more details, see Cairo v2.19.5.
