Parallel Studios is unveiling the first addition to its flagship sci-fi card game, introducing over 120 new NFT cards. These cards, available in mystery packs, can be traded even before their official game introduction, the company revealed.
With the impending launch of the Planetfall expansion in Parallel, gamers have three card bundle options to select from. The Player Pack is priced at 0.018 ETH (around $32), while the Collector’s Pack is available for 0.18 ETH ($320). Both these packs contain 10 cards each. For the avid collectors, there's the Collector’s Crate, encompassing 10 Collector’s Packs (totalling 100 cards) and additional bonuses, priced at 1.6 ETH ($2,848).
In the game of Parallel, players pick from one of five unique factions. They craft their card decks, select a primary "Paragon" card, and engage in duels. The objective? Deplete the opponent's health points to zero and emerge victorious.
Parallel offers card packs where players can't choose specific cards. The Collector’s Pack or Crate will include "rare" cards, while the basic pack will have a mix of card rarities. The Planetfall bundles begin presales on October 25, with a general sale on October 28, but new cards won't be in-game until 2024.
Unlike earlier NFT packs on Coinbase, Planetfall NFTs will be on Ethereum mainnet, potentially incurring higher transaction fees. A game update on October 30 will introduce new features, cosmetics, and an in-game store. Since its beta in July, Parallel has released over 1,200 NFT types, with a trade volume reaching $237 million. Additionally, an avatar collection offers in-game bonuses, like the PRIME token rewards.
