PUBG's publisher is teaming up with Circle for in-game payments on Overdare

Mar 3, 2024

The publisher of the popular game PUBG has partnered with Circle, the USDC issuer, to implement in-game payments on the Overdare platform, offering content creators a reliable way to monetize their work. This collaboration aims to transform the payment process by utilizing gaming wallets and cryptocurrency payouts, opening up new opportunities for the content creator economy.

Overdare, a mobile metaverse platform, is the result of joint efforts by Naver Z and Krafton. Launched in September 2023, Overdare offers players a unique metaverse built on Unreal Engine 5 and provides an alternative to platforms like Roblox, expanding the boundaries of the gaming space.

Thanks to integration with Circle's Programmable Wallets service, content creators will be able to easily and conveniently receive payment for their work, opening doors to the world of Web3 and offering an alternative to traditional Web2 platforms, facilitating the transition to a new ecosystem of digital entertainment.

Henry Park, CEO of Overdare, expressed excitement about partnering with Circle, highlighting its significance in supporting the creator economy and ensuring reliable access to earned funds. Jeremy Aller, co-founder and CEO of Circle, also shared optimism about this partnership, noting its potential in shaping the future of digital entertainment and fostering the development of the innovative Web3 environment.
