Readyverse unveiled the trailer for the game Open

Mar 13, 2024

Futurverse Studios and the Readyverse metaverse, founded by "Ready Player One" author Ernest Cline and producer Dan Farr, have unveiled the first official trailer for their new project titled Open. This game in the "battle royale" genre from a third-person perspective was developed in collaboration with Walker Labs, the creators of the open-world shooter Walker World released in 2022.

This is the first large-scale game created specifically for Cline's Readyverse. According to the description on the game's website, Open will feature various genres, intellectual properties, and environments.

Open, a heroic experience in the Readyverse, is the first AAA metaverse gaming experience that merges high-level IP protocol with Web3 technology. The diverse gameplay with multi-biomes, multi-IP, and various modes ensures compatibility with different IP addresses, from simple skins to full immersion.

This is confirmed by the recently released trailer. Although its duration is only 60 seconds, keen-eyed viewers will notice references to the Nintendo Entertainment System, Atari 2600, and the DMC Delorean, clearly associated with the time machine from "Back to the Future," as well as a giant robot that may be linked to the world of "Ready Player One," although it doesn't resemble Iron Giant or Gundam from the movie. It's also possible that the robot could be a Jaeger from Warner Bros.

Although the game has not yet been shown, Open has been announced as a third-person battle royale. This means the game will have functionality similar to other popular shooters like Call of Duty: Warzone and Fortnite.
