Ripple CTO Emeritus Defends XRPL Against Centralization Claims

In a recent exchange of views, David Schwartz, the CTO Emeritus of Ripple, has defended the integrity of the XRP Ledger (XRPL) against criticisms from Justin Bons. According to the results published in the material, Bons claimed that the structure of the XRPL allows for excessive control by Ripple-aligned entities, raising concerns about centralization.

Ответ Шварца на обвинения Бонса

Schwartz responded to Bons' allegations by clarifying that the XRPL's Unique Node List (UNL) does not grant validators the power to impose censorship or facilitate double-spending based solely on their authority. He emphasized that any dishonest validator's influence is limited to just one vote within the consensus mechanism, which is designed to mitigate such risks.

Историческая производительность XRPL

Furthermore, Schwartz pointed to the historical performance of the XRPL, noting that it has not faced issues of transaction discrimination or censorship, unlike some other prominent blockchain networks. He concluded by asserting that the architecture of the XRPL was deliberately crafted to minimize Ripple's control, thereby safeguarding the network's integrity and fostering trust among its users.

A critical bug was recently discovered in the proposed Batch Transactions amendment for the XRP Ledger, prompting the XRP Ledger Foundation to recommend that validators veto the amendment. This issue contrasts with David Schwartz's defense of the XRPL's integrity against centralization concerns. For more details, see read more.
