The issuer of the USDC stablecoin has released a report on the state of the ecosystem of this digital asset. Over the last five years since the emergence of Circle company in the cryptocurrency market, the total transaction volume in USDC has exceeded $12 trillion.
According to the report presented, in 2023, the company processed transfers between the banking sector and blockchains for a total amount of $197 billion. Furthermore, the total number of transactions conducted in the past 12 months reached 595 million.
Representatives of Circle emphasized that the number of wallets with a balance of at least 10 USDC increased by 59% in a year, reaching a total of 2.7 million. Additionally, by the beginning of 2024, USDC can be used on 15 different blockchains.
The report also includes the results of thematic research conducted with the participation of various companies in the fintech sector. Among the participants in such research are organizations like:
- Visa;
- MoneyGram;
- Nubank;
- Stripe;
- Worldpay, and others.
In January 2024, Circle company filed a confidential application for an initial public offering (IPO) in the United States. Representatives of this issuer submitted the necessary documents, including Form S-1, to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
