The space MMO game Star Atlas has announced a new stage in its development called "Starbased," scheduled to launch on April 2nd. This update invites players to engage in the upgrading and maintenance of their space bases, thereby influencing the game's economy. Starting from April 16th, the current in-game ID will transition to Starbased, with economic metrics in the old ID being reset. Alongside the launch, the currency emission of ATLAS will be reduced by 50%, a significant cut compared to the game's initial launch. Additionally, Armstrong ships will be excluded from Faction Claims.

Starbased represents a significant update where players will focus on constructing and supporting bases for their factions. All space stations begin at level one and require upgrading and maintenance for full functionality. This creates a challenge for players to establish an extensive supply chain between factions, strengthening the sense of community.

New elements will be introduced into the game, such as Loyalty Points (LP), which players earn by contributing to their faction's goals, such as upgrading or maintaining space bases. These points can then be exchanged for a share of the faction's daily rewards in ATLAS. The new system aims to reward collective efforts, enhancing the game's focus on community.

Furthermore, Council Rank Experience (XP) offers a long-term incentive for player engagement. While the full benefits of this system are yet to be revealed, it promises to add an additional layer of depth to Star Atlas.
