The demo version of Nyan Heroes, a heroic cat-themed shooter with blockchain assets on Solana, has launched early access testing on PC through the Epic Games Store. The pre-alpha demo will be available for download and play to everyone until April 9th, offering players the chance to earn MEOW points, which will enable them to share in the upcoming distribution of NYAN tokens on Solana. The game, a hybrid of shooters like Overwatch and Titanfall, allows players to control dynamic mechanical suits piloted by adorable cats, earning cryptocurrency rewards in the process.

9 Lives Interactive initiated a broadcast campaign earlier this month before the early access launch, allowing players to earn MEOW points through social media participation and owning game NFTs minted on Solana. Now, with the demo available in the Epic Games Store, players can log in and earn more MEOW points by playing the shooter and completing in-game missions, including achieving the first victory of the day, restoring 2500 health points to teammates, or recording 20 hours of play.

Players will be rewarded for participating in each of these missions, which are divided into daily, weekly, and "event" tasks. After the play-to-airdrop campaign concludes, the studio plans to launch the token and distribute it to players based on their MEOW points earned throughout the campaign.

During the early access period, the game will not feature NFT integration or any references to the upcoming game token. Nyan Heroes aims to use an approach that prioritizes gameplay above all and targets a broader gaming audience, while integrating player-owned assets in the form of NFTs, allowing players to "opt-in" if interested. Nyan Heroes can be played without touching cryptocurrency or having a wallet, with its own in-game premium currency for purchasing Web2 items.
