The distribution of game tokens of the Saga network on the Solana blockchain and other blockchain networks has been launched

Mar 10, 2024

The gaming network Saga recently initiated the process of token distribution for its SAGA tokens, spanning networks such as Avalanche, Solana, Cosmos, Celestia, and Polygon. This token distribution has become available to over 200,000 unique wallets belonging to participants of these networks. The distinctive feature of this campaign is that it offers winners of recent three-month Play-To-Airdrop contests, as well as some other participants, the opportunity to claim SAGA tokens. A special page is provided for participation in the distribution, where users can assert their right to a share of 60 million SAGA tokens until March 27, although it is worth noting the presence of regional restrictions, particularly for citizens and residents of the United States.

Various games from the Saga test network, as well as popular games from other networks including the card game Parallel and the shooter Shrapnel, participated in the contests for token distribution. Saga allocated tokens to users who staking native cryptocurrencies of networks such as Avalanche (AVAX), Polygon (MATIC), Celestia (TIA), and Cosmos (ATOM) during specific periods in 2023.

Saga, which previously announced collaborations with Avalanche and Polygon, aims to position itself as a platform for launching new networks, with a particular emphasis on usage in the gaming industry. According to Saga's CEO and co-founder, Rebecca Liao, the company is in a unique position as it focuses on gaming use cases, which have not yet been fully realized in other projects. This enables Saga to conduct large-scale token distributions, such as the play-to-airdrop mechanism, which has proven to be extremely useful. Liao also noted that while Saga's network focus is not solely limited to games, approximately 80% of the early developments in the test network are attributed to the gaming sector.
