Yield Guild Games launched its YGG token on the Ronin blockchain network, aiming to foster the development of Web3 games. This move was welcomed by the Ronin community and Sky Mavis, the creator of Axie Infinity, in line with a community-initiated proposal. The integration of the YGG token into the Ronin network is designed to strengthen the ecosystem by attracting more players and games. As part of this initiative, YGG tokens will be distributed among wallets participating in staking RON on the YGG validator, facilitating interaction between the Ronin network and the YGG platform.
The collaboration between YGG and Sky Mavis highlights their shared goal of innovation in the Web3 gaming industry. The introduction of the YGG token into Ronin marks a significant step in the ecosystem's development. The Ronin network, which has significantly expanded over the last year to include 22 validators, including YGG, Google, Nansen, and Animoca Brands, has become a key player in the Web3 gaming market.
YGG's gaming partner, Pixels, observed a sharp increase in the number of active users following the transition to Ronin, reaching 500,000 daily active users. This underscores the platform's growing influence and the success of games within the Ronin ecosystem. Users participating in staking RON through the YGG validator until March 11, 2024, will receive YGG tokens as part of an airdrop.
The YGG token will also be available on Katana, Ronin's decentralized exchange, allowing its liquidity to be integrated with other ecosystem tokens. Holding YGG tokens grants access to exclusive benefits, including token quests and potential airdrops, enhancing community engagement and participation.
