Companies TravelX and Viva Aerobus have teamed up to convert traditional airline tickets into digital assets using Algorand blockchain technology. This partnership will enable passengers to transform their tickets, providing new features such as smart buyback and flight exchange options.

TravelX, which specializes in using blockchain to enhance the retail capabilities of airlines, has entered into an agreement with the Mexican airline Viva Aerobus. The essence of the agreement is to convert tickets into digital assets, opening up new opportunities for customers.

This collaboration is part of a broader trend of using blockchain in the aviation industry. Previously, TravelX had worked with Flybondi and Air Europa, offering airline tickets in the form of NFTs to improve customer service. As part of the partnership with Viva Aerobus, passengers will be able to convert their purchased airline tickets into digital assets, providing them with additional options and innovative ways to use their tickets.

TravelX also collaborated with Flybondi to introduce electronic tickets as NFTs, allowing passengers to change the name on the ticket, transfer, or sell it. These tickets, based on the Algorand blockchain, highlight Flybondi's commitment to innovation and high-quality customer service.

Last year, TravelX, in partnership with Air Europa, launched the world's first series of NFT airline tickets called NFTickets, giving buyers exclusive access to flights and special events. These initiatives reflect the growing integration of blockchain technologies in the tourism industry, offering innovative solutions to improve customer interaction and expand the capabilities of airlines.
