Gamers may have expressed disappointment when Ubisoft, the renowned mega-publisher, introduced Tezos NFTs to Ghost Recon Breakpoint in 2021. However, the company, known for its titles like Assassin's Creed and Just Dance, remains enthusiastic about blockchain technology. In fact, Ubisoft has unveiled plans to conduct a complimentary Ethereum NFT mint event for its upcoming game.

In a Twitter announcement made on Thursday, Ubisoft revealed its intention to organize a free NFT mint event for a collection of profile pictures (PFPs) associated with Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, an upcoming game that will be built on the gaming-focused Oasys blockchain. Participants will only be required to cover the Ethereum network gas fees to mint these NFTs.

The Warlords PFPs seem to be inspired by pixelated heroes from classic video games. According to information available on the official website, owning Warlords NFTs will grant early access to users for minting in-game Champions figurines, a process that will also be free of charge.

A total of 9,999 Warlords NFTs will be created, with 8,000 of them being made available through the minting process, an additional 1,000 allocated to the Oasys community, and 999 retained by Ubisoft for potential future marketing initiatives and giveaways. Decrypt's GG attempted to contact Ubisoft for further details and comments but did not receive an immediate response.

Ubisoft is urging Twitter users to interact with its announcement tweet for a chance to join the NFT minting allowlist, with 50 users to be randomly selected for exclusive access to a dedicated Discord server. They're sharing more about the crypto game Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, and collaborating with Immutable on a crypto gaming experience.

Recent disclosures indicate that the game will be an online strategy game where players engage in battles using fantasy characters. It will feature "thousands of unique, powerful Champions" resembling tabletop figurines. Additionally, Ubisoft has also showcased images that resemble trading cards, which may introduce another layer of strategy to the gaming experience.
