UNILAG Expands Electric Bus Fleet
UNILAG has increased its fleet of electric buses from an initial 10 to 30, thanks to a partnership with Ogata Global Resources and Chart Eco Global Services. This expansion is set to cover a projected mileage of 700 kilometers, showcasing the university's commitment to eco-friendly transportation solutions.
Environmental Impact and Sustainability Goals
By the end of 2025, the initiative is expected to achieve a reduction of 124 metric tons of carbon emissions, aligning with UNILAG's goals of lowering transportation costs and promoting sustainability. This proactive approach not only benefits the university community but also contributes to broader environmental goals.
In a recent development, BYD has successfully exported over 131,000 vehicles in November, despite facing challenges in domestic sales. This achievement contrasts with UNILAG's efforts in sustainable transportation. For more details, see BYD's exports.
