Upbit, one of South Korea's leading cryptocurrency exchanges, has announced a temporary halt to its South Korean won (KRW) deposit and withdrawal services. This decision comes as a result of essential system maintenance being conducted by its banking partner, KBank. According to the official information, the maintenance is expected to last for several hours, during which users will not be able to access these services.
Maintenance Schedule
The suspension will be in effect from 3:00 PM UTC on November 8th until 1:00 AM UTC on November 9th. During this period, users will be unable to execute any transactions involving KRW, which may impact trading activities on the platform.
Importance of Maintenance
Upbit emphasized that this maintenance is vital for maintaining the stability and security of the financial infrastructure that underpins its KRW services. The exchange has urged users to plan their transactions accordingly to avoid any inconvenience during the maintenance window.
Bithumb recently announced a temporary suspension of all Polkadot (DOT) deposits and withdrawals to facilitate a crucial network upgrade. This follows Upbit's announcement of a halt in KRW services for system maintenance. For more details, see more.
