WisdomTree, a prominent asset management firm, has unveiled a new exchange-traded product (ETP) for Stellar Lumens (XLM), marking a significant expansion of its digital asset offerings in Europe. According to the assessment of specialists presented in the publication, this move highlights the firm's commitment to providing institutional investors with regulated access to emerging blockchain technologies.

Introduction of WisdomTree Physical Stellar Lumens ETP

The newly launched WisdomTree Physical Stellar Lumens ETP offers investors direct exposure to the spot price of Stellar's native token through a fully collateralized structure. According to a company announcement, the ETP is now available on the SIX Swiss Exchange and Euronext Paris and Amsterdam with plans for a listing on Deutsche Börse Xetra on October 15.

Cost Efficiency and Target Audience

With a management expense ratio (MER) of just 0.50%, WisdomTree claims this ETP has the lowest cost among physically backed Lumens products in Europe. It is specifically designed for institutional and professional investors who seek transparent access to XLM without the complexities of managing private keys or custody solutions. Each share of the ETP is backed by the underlying Lumens, securely held in regulated custody accounts.

Expansion of Digital Asset Portfolio

Since launching its first physically backed Bitcoin ETP in 2019, WisdomTree has been actively expanding its digital asset portfolio. The introduction of the Stellar ETP is part of the firm's strategy to connect traditional finance with blockchain assets, providing institutional-grade exposure while adhering to existing market regulations. This launch also reflects a growing trend among asset managers to diversify their offerings beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum, exploring alternative Layer 1 ecosystems like Stellar, which is recognized for its capabilities in cross-border payments and tokenized asset infrastructure.

Positioning in the European Crypto ETP Landscape

By entering the Stellar market, WisdomTree is positioning itself as a key player in Europe's dynamic crypto ETP landscape, where competition among issuers is intensifying as institutional adoption of digital assets continues to grow.

In a significant development, China has imposed a ban on US shipping, escalating trade tensions and impacting global markets. This move contrasts with WisdomTree's recent launch of a Stellar Lumens ETP, highlighting the complexities of the current economic landscape. For more details, see read more.
