Cryptocurrency exchange Okcoin has publicly declared its intention to undergo a global to rebrand globally as OKX. This transition, set to occur in the upcoming months, signifies the beginning of a new chapter in the company's history.

Hong Fang, the President of OKX, who has been a part of Okcoin for five years, characterized this decision as a moment filled with mixed emotions.

The rebranding process will be carried out in a phased manner, commencing in Singapore, followed by the European Union (EU), and ultimately concluding in the United States (US). Customers of Okcoin in these regions will continue to receive the same product services under the same regulatory framework, albeit with a new brand identity.

Okcoin, originally established nearly a decade ago as the largest local fiat-to-crypto platform, underwent a significant transformation in January 2023 when it merged with its long-standing sister company, OKX. Alongside this change, Hong Fang assumed a new role as President of OKX.

OKX's Chief Operating Officer (COO), Jason Lau, echoed Hong Fang's sentiments, stating, "We will be phasing out the Okcoin brand and transitioning to OKX within the coming months. Our objective is to provide a more unified and recognizable experience for all users, while upholding our principles of transparency and accessibility."
