The Deribit exchange was attacked by scammers. As a result, about $28 million was stolen from the hot wallet. This became known from the official Twitter page of the project.

The exchange team assures clients that their hardware wallet funds remain safe. During the investigation of the hacker attack, deposits and withdrawals have been suspended.

Experts found that a hacker attacked a wallet that stores the ether (ETH) cryptocurrency and managed to transfer part of the funds to Uniswap to be converted into USDC stablecoins. Also, the bitcoin wallet of the exchange was attacked. More than 691 BTC were stolen from it.

Previously, Deribit had a sticky situation with hedge fund Three Arrows Capital (3AC). The fund owes more than $2 billion to its creditors, including the Deribit exchange.

According to analytical data, October became the leader in the number of fraudulent attacks. In total, about $3 billion was stolen from various protocols.
