Juice Marketplace is a unique platform where creators of digital content can sell it directly using the Polygon blockchain. This provides a fully decentralized solution for such use case. Project goal and how Juice Marketplace works
The goal of Juice Marketplace is to provide a decentralized, self-serve, and easy solution for digital creators to sell their content. It's a convenient and straightforward way to sell and purchase digital content using blockchain and digital wallets, without any subscriptions or passwords.
The platform operates based on an enhanced ERC1155 smart contract. To create new content for sale:
- A new ERC1155 token is minted, which acts as a key to unlock that content.
- Before minting, three files are saved on IPFS: the cover image, the encrypted digital content, and the metadata that includes links to the previous two files.
- The digital content is encrypted using LitProtocol, and decryption permission is set for the owners of the corresponding token.
Thus, ownership of a specific token is the key to unlocking the encrypted content.
Creators can choose not to sell their content. In this case, minting new tokens is not possible. Creators can also choose to send a copy of their content key to any address of their choice. They do this by minting a new NFT to the recipient's address. Alternatively, they have the option to burn the token, which means no more new tokens of that specific ID can be minted. The content will remain on IPFS, but if nobody has the specific token ID, nobody will be able to unlock the corresponding encrypted file.
Payment and fees in the blockchain network for content
Content minting is subject only to the gas fee of the underlying blockchain network. Content minting is subject to service fees.
