Binance: Scammers are offering to add tokens to our exchange on our behalf.

Jan 30, 2024

The management of the world's largest crypto exchange Binance warned against the actions of scammers who pose as the leading managers of the exchange and offer cryptocurrency projects the services of listing their tokens. The attackers actively use the LinkedIn platform, where they present themselves as the co-founder of Binance, Yi He, and offer a token listing for a fee. Yi He stressed that she is not involved in the listing process and urged users to be careful about those who claim to be related to Binance. This type of fraud became especially common during the last growth of the market, when interest in the listing of tokens increased again.

"I have a LinkedIn account, but I haven't been able to log in to it for a long time. I am not involved in reviewing projects for a possible listing. Therefore, do not trust those who claim that they have close ties with me and hold discussions on investments," Yi He said.

There have also been cases where scammers posing as Binance offered to distribute tokens in exchange for participating in discussion groups dedicated to cryptocurrencies. The Binance support team strongly recommends that users do not interact with unreliable sources and do not disclose their personal data. Otherwise, investors and project developers may become victims of scams that require significant deposits in USDT stablecoins. Scammers create LinkedIn profiles that look plausible, and after receiving deposits, they disappear without adding tokens to the exchange.

This month, Binance users also fell victim to scammers who sent fake SMS messages about winning the Binance Mystery Box lottery with promised prizes of 100 euros in cryptocurrency.
