Donald Trump launches limited edition 'bitcoin-themed sneakers'
US presidential candidate Donald Trump has announced the launch of a limited edition sneaker dedicated to bitcoin. The sneakers, emblazoned with a bitcoin logo and the words “Trump is the crypto president,” are available for pre-order on the official website at prices ranging from $299 to $499.
The announcement was made via Truth Social just after Trump's speech at the Bitcoin 2024 conference, where he promised to fire SEC head Gary Gensler and make the United States the crypto capital of the world.
The collection includes two models in gold and black, each in a limited edition of only 1,000 pairs. The more expensive models sold out within the first three hours of the launch. Some of the sneakers have also been signed by Trump, and buyers can randomly receive an autographed pair.

Trump's sneakers have already appeared on eBay's Marketplace, where they range in price from $700 to $2500. Some have already sold out, but the most expensive models remain available for now.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Trump's office raised $331 million in donations in the second quarter of 2024, $3 million of which came in the form of cryptocurrencies.
