On February 15, the Optimism Tier 2 network is scheduled to temporarily suspend the withdrawal of ether (ETH) for one hour in order to test the updated incident response system.

According to a post on the Discord account, deposits from the main Ethereum network to the tier 2 network and regular transactions on the network will work unchanged.

The purpose of this temporary shutdown is to improve the ability to respond in a coordinated manner to security issues across the various networks of the Optimism ecosystem.

The new feature will temporarily stop the withdrawal of tokens and NFT for Optimism and all Optimism-based networks that will join the testing.

This update will not only strengthen individual networks, but will also use the collective security intelligence of the entire supernetwork, as stated in OP Labs.

Currently, the new feature is in the test network, and temporarily stopping the outputs for an hour will allow you to test the effectiveness of this option in a real environment.

Updates on the network status during this short break will be available on a special page.
