The developers of the first-level Aleo blockchain have announced the upcoming launch of the main network. It will begin its work in the next few weeks after some errors have been fixed, as stated by the project team.

"We have just completed the third phase of the test network. We have identified a number of errors as a result of the audit. However, the good news is that we are at the last stage and will launch Aleo soon," said Alex Pruden, Executive Director of the Aleo Foundation.

Pruden also recalled the possibility of participating in the Aleo testnet, which gives a chance to receive a possible airdrop.

Over the past four years, the Aleo team has been working on revising the network's consensus algorithm. The idea of creating Aleo originated in 2018 after the publication of a scientific article by the co-founders of the Zcash project. The main goal was to expand the concept of Zcash private transactions to the field of smart contracts.

According to the team, Aleo will provide users and developers with complete anonymity and unlimited computing capabilities. It will use zero-disclosure technology and decentralized mechanisms to protect user data, ensuring complete confidentiality.

Experts from the venture capital company Electric Capital noted the rapid growth of the Aleo ecosystem compared to other projects. They believe that this indicates a growing demand for the creation of truly private decentralized applications (dApps).

In addition, Aleo has previously successfully attracted more than $290 million in investments from funds such as a16z, Tiger Global Management, Polychain Capital and others.

It is important to note that several other projects, including Astar Network and Chromia, also plan to launch their main networks in 2024.
