Cryptocurrency exchange WazirX has filed a police complaint and contacted the Computer Emergency Response Team of India (CERT-In) following a hack that stole $230 million from one of its wallets. The company is working with forensic experts and law enforcement agencies to identify the criminals and recover customer assets.

WazirX also plans to file a First Information Report (FIR) for a formal investigation. In India, the cryptocurrency sector remains unregulated, making it difficult for regulators to act. The Bharat Web3 Association and other exchanges such as CoinDCX have offered assistance to WazirX.
