Animoca Brands, known for its investments in Web3, including blockchain games and metaverses, has teamed up with the Japanese telecommunications giant KDDI to accelerate the adoption of Web3 through Mocaverse and the αU platform. This collaboration aims to create a seamless experience for users diving into Web3 games, culture, and entertainment. They plan to integrate the decentralized identifier Moca ID with the αU wallet, making it easier to access Web3 content. Joint ventures are also planned between Animoca Brands' intellectual property and Web3 and αU content, including the sale of NFTs related to the game Phantom Galaxies.
Mocaverse, Animoca's first NFT project, has grown into a thriving network, attracting over 750,000 users. Phantom Galaxies, developed by Blowfish Studios, offers a unique gaming experience using blockchain technology. KDDI entered the Web3 space with the launch of αU, a comprehensive service facilitating the transition between real and virtual worlds, including NFT and cryptocurrency management, an NFT marketplace, a metaverse for entertainment and socializing, as well as platforms for musical concerts and virtual shopping. This collaboration promises to strengthen ties between Japan and the global Web3 community, promoting widespread adoption of Web3 and the creation of a society freely utilizing blockchain applications.
