As expressed by Async Art's CEO, Conlan Rios, on Twitter, the path was filled with obstacles. Transitioning from a role as an art aficionado and community champion to the helm of a technical platform introduced a slew of fresh challenges and duties, not all of which shone in the limelight.

After thorough reflection, Async Art proclaimed on Oct. 23 that they would gradually cease operations in the forthcoming months. This declaration signified the close of a chapter for the blockchain art world, yet the team remained optimistic about the enduring vitality of dynamic and generative art.

In the wake of this announcement, a prevalent concern emerged about the fate of existing NFTs. Thankfully, Async Art had foreseen this and prepared accordingly. All Async NFTs are anchored securely on IPFS and will persist on-chain. However, by the culmination of 2023, the Async Market will discontinue supporting transactions, and from Oct. 23 onwards, Async Art will no longer entertain new entries.

Even amidst the forthcoming shutdown, Rios emphasized that the squad's utmost priority was to "uphold the artistry birthed from [the] platform and facilitate [the] existing team members in navigating towards new avenues to chase their web3 aspirations.”
