Binance, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges, has expanded its list of coins that are now marked with a 'monitoring tag', indicating their high level of risk and volatility. Among the cryptocurrencies that fell under this tag are well-known tokens such as Monero (XMR), Zcash (ZEC), Aragon (ANT), Firo, Keep3rV1, Mdex, MobileCoin, Reef, Vai, and Horizen.
To access trading these tokens on Binance, users are now required to complete surveys about the risks of interacting with crypto assets every 90 days. Binance plans to conduct regular reviews of these projects to decide whether to add or remove monitoring tags.
This decision by Binance followed a similar move by the cryptocurrency exchange OKX, which last week announced the delisting of XMR, ZEC, and some other tokens. OKX CEO Jay Hao emphasized the main principles of selecting cryptocurrencies for placement on the platform.
Additionally, in December 2023, Binance delisted the stablecoin BUSD and had previously urged customers to convert this asset into other stablecoins. These actions reflect Binance's efforts to improve control and risk management on its platform.
