A fraudulent application posing as the Hyperliquid platform has been identified on the Google Play Store, prompting serious warnings for cryptocurrency users. The discovery was made by blockchain investigator ZachXBT, who took to Telegram to inform the community about the potential risks associated with the fake app. The report expresses concern that users may unknowingly compromise their personal information by downloading this malicious software.

Counterfeit Hyperliquid App Poses Risk to Users

The counterfeit app closely mimics the official Hyperliquid application, making it difficult for users to distinguish between the two. This deception could lead users to inadvertently download the malicious app, which may compromise their wallet information. ZachXBT shared a wallet link connected to the fraudulent app, urging users to remain vigilant and avoid sharing their recovery phrases, as doing so could result in the loss of their crypto assets.

Criticism of Google's Response to the Scam

ZachXBT also criticized Google's failure to promptly identify and eliminate the scam from its platform, underscoring the importance of exercising caution when downloading any crypto-related applications. As the cryptocurrency landscape continues to grow, users are reminded to verify the authenticity of apps before installation to protect their investments.

In a related development, a significant security breach has occurred as the Garden hacker laundered $11 million in stolen assets using Tornado Cash, raising alarms in the cryptocurrency community. For more details, see read more.
