Champions Arena introduces Nexus 2.0 with enhanced gameplay

Mar 21, 2024

Champions Arena, a turn-based RPG on the Gala Games platform, is rolling out updates to Nexus, its in-game platform for renting NFT Champions. Previously, players could only rent a Champion every 8 hours for single use. Now, players can rent one NFT Champion per day, with the rental duration extended to one hour, allowing free players to earn more by participating in PvP content.

Nexus 2.0 introduces a recommendation system for Champion rentals, ensuring players have the best options when entering the arena. The levels of rented Champions will automatically match the player's highest-level Champion, providing a more competitive experience. To expand Champion rentals, rental tickets can be purchased with paid gems.

Arena updates also include a daily reset at UTC 00:00 for battle limits based on NFT count and rarity, as well as an adjustment to the arena's scoring formula to account for the gap between competing teams.

The removal of anti-macro pop-ups is a significant quality of life improvement that simplifies the gaming experience. Players can now earn more Victory Points (VPs) by engaging in battles with rented Champions and have the chance to win free daily gems by winning in arena battles. VPs are in-game tokens that are converted into $GALA at 3 AM UTC each day.

Champions Arena continues to offer a rich fantasy world where players can collect over 100 unique Champions and in-game assets. Since NFTs are not required to access the game, each player is given a set of free non-NFT Champions to start their journey. These updates to Nexus and the arena are designed to enhance the game's appeal and earning potential.
