Colin Wu: Key Events in the Cryptocurrency Industry

Renowned Chinese analyst Colin Wu shared a summary of significant events in the cryptocurrency industry over the past week. He reported on the substantial theft of 237 million XRP from Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen, resulting in hackers attacking four of his wallets and causing damage of about $117 million.

Wu also noted that Binance developers introduced the new One BNB concept, combining multiple blockchains to create a unified solution for decentralized computing and data storage. Additionally, Polygon Labs CEO Mark Buaron announced the layoff of 19% of his team, providing the dismissed employees with severance pay and benefits until the end of February 2024, and the renaming of Polygon Ventures to P2 Ventures.

Furthermore, Starknet's management announced a collaboration with Celestia to improve the throughput of the third-level network, and Matter Labs suggested that TreasureDAO use the ZK stack to scale gaming projects and applications through third-level chains.

Avalanche developers announced the discontinuation of their wallet services in March 2024 and the transition to Core Stake with enhanced features. OpenSea reported over 100,000 new users registered after launching simplified registration, and Magic Eden launched a multi-chain wallet supporting several blockchains.

Finally, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data in Hong Kong initiated an investigation related to the Worldcoin project, and the developer of the decentralized exchange Jupiter on the Solana blockchain conducted an airdrop of JUP tokens.
